Once upon a time
There was a man with healing hands
He did heal
But it wasn’t Enough.
Once upon a time
There was a man with hands covered with clay
He breathed life into clay and deadwood
But it wasn’t Enough.
Once upon a time
There was a boy with hands climbing rocks
He was drawn even to the humblest peak, only to balance at the edge for the briefest moment
But it wasn’t Enough.
Once upon a time
There was a baby with hands saying No
He kept fighting against each push
But it wasn’t Enough.
Sits in a darkened room
Gates behind him heed his call
Keeper of Passage
All but his own
For Enough is not his to own.
Then,
Why.

I was very happy with two poems today! Both profound, both very good to read.

My dearest Chris, you painted a big smile on my face… high praise, indeed, your words.
Coming from you, who breathe words into paper and into our hearts… what can I say but a Thank You.

Nice tale. My take away is – What we do with our own efforts and for our own purposes will never be enough.

It is of no surprise to me your keen eye.
I don’t need to try it, m’lady…for I have lived it.
